Take deposits on big orders
Catering, cakes, outfits and gift hampers all take time and materials. Ask for a deposit through an invoice or a link before you start.
Keep an eye on the day
Check your totals at closing time, and pay suppliers from your account rather than cash, so January's books aren't a puzzle.
